We started Torch and Tinder because the plastic lighter has been the same for forty years and nobody seemed bothered. We were.

One Tuesday evening the gas igniter died. The matches in the drawer were from a hotel and the strike strip was worn off. The candle on the bath edge had been unlit for two evenings. The risotto cooled while we hunted through drawers.
